SAPPC Conflict Early Warning & Early Response Network
The SAPPC Early Warning and Early Response Program has been the institutions flagship program that has played a central role in all the 16 SAPPC National networks Conflict Prevention initiatives due to its ability to reach and zoom into even the small and remote communities that may be vulnerable to violent conflict including man made and natural disasters with the aim of improving human security and socio-economic development.
In line with the protocols relating to conflict prevention, management and resolution, peace keeping and security in Southern Africa and the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) of the African Union, SAPPC Early Warning also supports various Regional and International Development Partners Peace and development mechanisms, including the African Unions Continental Early Warning System (CEWS) Africa Reporter.
The SAPPC Early Warning System generates data from its Reporters, field monitors, partners and open source platforms across all the 16 SADC Member States using a set of specific indicators of conflicts and related issues at the community, district, national and regional level.
Women and Youth In CEWS: SAPPC prioritises the engagement of Women and Youth in early warning systems as they are often the most affected by conflicts. As such we have a continuous and specific capacity building and training program for women and youth integration in early warning as reporters and field monitors.

SAPPC CAPACITY BULDING AND TRAINING PROGRAMS
Our capacity building and training program aims to increase the conflict prevention and peace building body of knowledge in Southern Africa and beyond, by championing research in traditional and new fields, facilitating knowledge exchange, relevant capacity building and training of key institutions and practitioners for sustainable peace and development. In the SADC Region there is urgent need to increase and sustain the number of competent and engaged peace building practitioners, with special focus on Women, Youth and State institutions to close the gap between policy and practice, knowledge and skills in conflict prevention and peace building.

SAPPC GENDER WOMEN,PEACE AND SECURITY
Our gender program supports members to integrate gender-sensitive peace building perspectives into their work. It also contributes a conflict prevention perspective to global advocacy efforts on women, peace and security issues.
SAPPC YOUTH PEACE AND SECURITY
Youth mainstreaming is a cross-cutting priority for SAPPC. We believe that sustainable peace can only be achieved with the participation of all members of society, Youth Included, regardless of gender, religion, race, class, age, or nationality.
SAPPC Chairing the Global GPPAC YPS Working Group (GPPAC YPS WG).
SAPPC Southern Africa Youth Peace and Security (YPS) is the current Chair of the Global GPPAC YPS Working Group (GPPAC YPS WG). Since 2018, the GPPAC YPS WG is the largest global YPS group that brings together YPS Experts from across 15 Global networks to share their extensive experiences and collaborate to promote the inclusion of young peacebuilders and the global implementation of the YPS agenda.
Guided by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250, 2419 and 2535, the AU Continental Framework on Youth, Peace and Security, the SADC Declaration on Youth Development and Empowerment (2015) and other related documents which call for youth’s meaningful participation and engagement in peace processes we focus on 5 key youth intervention areas, including:
1. Facilitating and supporting coordinated actions among youth and youth groups in the YPS Agenda at local and regional level through Youth4Peace National Networks in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and partners.
2. Capacity building and training Youth in Conflict Prevention, Resolution, Management and Transformation (CPRMT) in the 16 SADC Member States.
3. Youth in Climate Change, Peace and Security
4. Youth Dialogue amongst peers and Youth engagement in High level Peace and Security Forums for effective Inter Generational exchanges.
5. Youth Countering and Preventing Violent Extremism (CPVE)
6. Supporting SADC, COMESA and The African in the implementation of the Youth for Peace Program and other YPS Programs.
COUNTERING AND PREVENTING VIOLENT EXTREMISM ELECTION VIOLENCE AND MONITORING
In a bid to reduce Electoral Violence in the 16 SADC countries, SAPPC has a pre, during and post election monitoring process which is done in collaboration with relevant state and non state actors. Members with Election Process Expertise, capacity build and train other members and communities to monitor and observe elections at local level.
Election Monitoring Activities include:
1. Voter Education
2. Training of Election Monitors
3. Violence Hotspot Mapping and Monitoring
4. Setting up Election Situation Rooms for data gathering, analysis, communicating key data to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
