Through demand driven and collaborative research with partners such as the United Nations, development partners, Governments, REC`s, Continental Bodies, Private Sector and CSO`s SAPPC aspires to advance knowledge and peace building in Southern Africa and beyond. Our research themes cover the following and other areas, namely:
1. Early Warning and Early Response
2. Elections, Democracy and Governance
3. Women and Youth Peace and Security
4. Child Protection in Conflict Areas
5. Climate Security, resilience building and natural resource conflicts
6. Inter and intra State and Community conflicts.
7. Violent extremism, terrorism and transnational organised crime
Our research outputs are prompted by both our context specific peace and security needs or are at the request of our global partners given the wide and rich SAPPC coverage. The outputs are aimed at advancing policy advocacy, efficient decision making and act as a resource for informed discussions in the peace and security sector. This more importantly enables state and non-state actors to make evidence-based decisions. These resources can are also used as references by academics, researchers, practitioners and policy makers and other relevant actors.
